Picture People vs Jcpenney

Looking to get some pics of my 6 month old since i won't be spending too much on pics till her one year shots. Saw that Groupon had deals for both Picture People and Jcpenney portrait studio.

Anyone use either of them? Is one better than the other? Also, looking to go to the Roosevelt Field location for either of them or Buy Buy baby, if any one has used them there.

I went once to JCP at Christmas and didn't like it. I have had some good and some bad sessions at Picture People. A lot is going to depend on your child that day and the photographer you get. We got some of the cutest pictures at 6 months. I would go with the best deal or who has backgrounds I like. Picture People has been having coupons for $75 CD recently. I like that deal better than the groupon, but then you have to make prints yourself.

We have used Picture People 3 times for my DD and have always had a great experience and the pics are beautiful! we go to the Buy Buy Baby location.

We've been to both. I agree that a lot depends on the photog and how your child is that day. I've had good experiences at both, but I prefer Picture People b/c you get the pics same day. JC Penney is far from me and it was a pain to go back and pick up.

I've never been to Picture People but had DD's 1st birthday pictures done at the JC Penney's in Sunrise Mall in Massapequa. We had a good experience. We used a Groupon that cost about $30. We got our 3 favorite digital images e-mailed to us and then had the rights to print them on our own using whatever photo service we wanted. They took about 15 pictures and then DD decided the session was over for her. I liked about 7 of the pictures (she was smiling, looking at the camera, etc.) and then picked my favorite 3 for the CD.

JC Penny is much cheaper but the I am not a fan of the staff at Massapequa Mall. I have used the Picture People in the Buy Buy Baby in Garden City and it was ! We go to Target in Levittown now and love them! Its owned by the same photography company that runs the JCP potrait studios so they have all the same backgrounds and pretty much the same pricing and sales.
