Kitchen backsplash tiles?
Can I see pictures of everyones kitchen backsplash (the space between the counter top and wall cabinets)
Is it the same tile you used for the floor? is it different from the floor tile?
what if you have a granite/marble counter top?
Any details would be appreciated.

I almost ordered a backsplash to match my floor and the woman at the tile store talked me into something else based on my granite. I was so glad she did because although the backsplash could look like it goes with the floor (same color family), I love the look. She told me if you match the floor and tile exactly, your eye bounces between the floor and backsplash and your granite gets lost. I have no idea if thats true or not but Im glad I didnt get the "matchy matchy" (her words, I actually hate that phrase) floor/backsplash. She said there should be harmony when your eye flows - floor with cabinets, cabinets with granite, granite with backsplash, backsplash with cabinets. I tried to post kitchen pics the other day for another thread but my files were too large and I have no idea how to make them smaller.

We coordinated the tile and the floor. There are gold and copper flecks in the granite which tied it all together. Image Attachment(s):

We coordinated the tile and the floor. There are gold and copper flecks in the granite which tied it all together.
So is your backsplash and floor tile the same tiles?

we have granite tiles for our backspach the same as our granite - but we have two different colored cabinets - ann off white on top and a dark wood on the bottom

i just got my backsplash tile delivery and I cant wait to have it installed....its sonoma tile similar to this but in burgandy/rust colors, i'll post pictures when its finished if you'd like! Image Attachment(s):

Ours is going to be. The floor tiles are 13 x 13 and the backsplash are 4 x 4.

WOW I just want to say how love your cabinets.
I hope you don't mind my asking who is the maker and what color are them (especially interested in the dark wood color name)?

Yes.
They are coordinated, from the same designer, same color patterns, just different sizes. The showroom often presents them that way on the same slab. I didn't want to introduce another material, texture or color into the palate of the room.
My MIL's new kitchen, she just continued her granite up for the backsplash instead of tile. Had I done that it would have been a lot of black. It's also really expensive because you are in essence doubling the amount of granite you are ordering. My MIL picked out a very exotic granite and you don't even want to know how much the granite alone was for her new kitchen

I'm not sure if this is the exact same, but we're adding a bathroom and we got tile like that from Old Country Tile. It comes in that color and lighter shades of tan. We love it!

I was just in Porsalanosa on Old Country Road and they have a similar (maybe exact) tile as the one posted.
