Scratch & Dent Stores
After responding to a post about washers and dryers, I realized that I don't know where any scratch & dent stores are in Long Island. In Pittsburgh, PA, there is a Sears scratch and dent store that has the best appliances for less than 1/2 the price. The products are always just as good, but arrived with a scratch on the side for example.
Anyways, I am moving soon and thought it would be useful to know the location of one for future references. TIA

Re: Scratch & Dent Stores
I think Sears has one on the south shore. Either west bablyon or west islip. I'm sure someone else here will know.

Yes, There's a Sears Scratch & Dent in West Babylon on Montauk Hwy in the same shopping center as K-Mart.
I've both a washer, dryer, and dishwater from them. I've had no problems with them or the applicances.

Re: Scratch & Dent Stores
I've bought a washer and dryer at PC Richards scratch and dent. We also bought a dryer at the Habitat for Humanity Restore-and I'm pretty sure thats tax deductible since it goes to charity! They;ve got tons o fbuilding supplies, windows, bathtubs and occasionally appliances-its on Ocean Ave in Ronkonkoma I think.,
There is also a Sears scratch and dent in Hauppauge on Motor Parkway just N of the LIE(ex. 55)

Does the Habitat for Humanity sell new stuff or used? I pass it all the time and I have always wondered about that

Re: Scratch & Dent Stores
I think the Sears in West Babylon is $50 per item. We were able to stick whatever we bought (largest was our refrig) in the back of our SUV.
If you have an SUV, I'd try doing that first to save yourself some money.
