Boys dressier clothes

Is anyone else sick of the sweater vests, the argyle sweats, the striped button down shirts?

MY GOD - there has to be something else out there for me to put my son in for the holidays! I am so over it all!!!!!!

Would you want to do some fancy and dressier like this? It's from Janie and Jack.

Re: Boys dressier clothes

I remember this conversation last year around the holidays. I totally agree with you. I'm not a fan of the argyle sweaters and the sweater vests.

I got a comfy cable knit sweater in a cranberry red for Jared last year at Old Navy. I also got him a pair of brown pants from Old Navy as well.

Re: Boys dressier clothes

I totally agree Diana!

Easter was a pastel argyle vest, his birthday was a brown argyle vest.
Thanksgiving was a striped shirt and cardigan, christmas was black pants and raindeer sweater vest.

Short of a 3-piece suit, there is nothing for boys at all.

Re: Boys dressier clothes

ITA. I don't care for the vest look. That's all I could find for last Christmas.

I am thinking dress shirt and tie this time.

Yup - I refuse to put Lucas in a sweater vest...I am tired of seeing them as the only option (not to say that I don't like them...I do...I just wish that there was more of a selection).

Last year Lucas wore button down tops or sweaters over jeans or cords. This year I don't see that selection so I'm having a hard time.

Re: Boys dressier clothes

I'm not a fan of anything with a character on it (christmas tree, reindeer etc) and I feel like boys clothes could be very nerdy sometimes.

I need to start looking now since I already know I'll be annoyed when the time comes.

Re: Boys dressier clothes

yesterday gymboree had gray herringbone pants and cap and a plain plain gray sweater vest. They showed it with a white pinstriped shirt that had red in it. It looked really nice - not too babyish.

They also had a black cordoroy jacket that was adorable

His first X-mas I dressed him up fancy. This year he will wear "dressy" jeansChat Icon and I am on a hunt for a non-vest, non- argyle, non-striped button down top!

It makes no sense for the kids to get all dressed up in my family for the holidays. Picture 22 kids...SAME age running around in dressy clothes. Something is torn off, pulled down, hanging off within 5 minutesChat Icon

ETA: Ugh,,,I just remembered that I need to find an outfit for his X-mas pictures Chat Icon I thought I was getting away easy this year

Re: Boys dressier clothes

I don't know if you have patience for Marshalls (I don't, hence I send my mother) but they have some adorable stuff at times...actually now they have a lot of stuff for the winter plus an additional 50% off on certain items. My mother went and stocked up my son for the whole winter for a fraction of what I would have spent at Saks. BTW - I'd say about 90% of baby clothes that you see in Marshalls I saw in Saks for double or triple the price (except Burberry and Armani).

I agree about the Kenneth Cole line. I usually buy it from Macy's though. They also sell some things at Marshalls.

I have a couple of outfits from this place. IMO, a lot of the stuff is over the top. Especially the girl stuff. But, I am a pretty plain person.

Re: Boys dressier clothes

NOT Cailen's style AT all (or mine either, ironically Chat Icon )

so... I put Cailen in a nice pair of jeans, and a thin long sleeve top - either a solid, or a button down solid shirt. For his birthday party he wore a long sleeved black Guess button down shirt. Simple and classy. I will do something similar this year.

We also bought him a pair of cords for last Xmas from Z'baby with skulls on the back pocket, dressy, but cool....
