4th grade teachers...First Day??
There seems to be a ton of 4th grade teachers on here....what are you doing for the first day of school????

On the first day, I :
*Introduce the room
*Go over routines and procedures
*Label and organize all supplies
*Intro classroom library
*Read two back to school type read alouds
*Do a quick writing assessment (summer vacation type thing..not my formal fall benchmark)
*Do an "all about me" type BINGO
*Create class rules with the kiddos
*Might start math assessment

I do "This is the Way We Go To School" about kids going off to school in all different ways around the world.
I also do First Day Jitters.
