Tell me your basic paint colors
DH and I want to paint some space just a basic neutral color. But there are so many shades of neutral! Please tell me which shades you've used/liked.
Also, matte, gloss, etc? I'm a paint v*rgin!

Re: Tell me your basic paint colors
I just used Benjamin Moore honeyed almond on my mom's bathroom very neutral, and similar in color to her "biscuit/bone" colored toilet:
I always use eggshell finish b/c it washes easier if you get a mark on the wall...
ETA- the pictures of BM paint colors online are so "off" from how they actually go on the walls! lol
re-reading my comment I realized how unflattering it is to compare the paint color to a toilet I'm sure that's helped cross this one off your list!!

Re: Tell me your basic paint colors
BM Lady Finger is pretty neutral.
Not my house, but here it is:
As far as paint coverage, I HATE eggshell. I know it's very popular, b/c it is washable, but I hate the sheen to it.... I prefer matte.

Re: Tell me your basic paint colors
I like this color better than the 1st one I posted, though it's a little bit darker ...this is our enclosed porch:
BM Wheeling Neutral:
(excuse the mid-clean up pic!):
I have more pics (and plenty of paint samplings pics lol) in my "front porch room" album

Re: Tell me your basic paint colors
I used a light grey as my neutral color in my house for all the common areas (hallway, stairs, and one of the bathrooms). All the other paint in the house has some grey in it, so it coordinates nicely, and I still have a complete range of colors to choose from (DS's bedroom is a medium blue, with grey in it, DD's bedroom is pink, with grey, and the other rooms are shades of taupe)

Re: Tell me your basic paint colors
We used BM Shaker Beige in our Entry, Dining Room, Stairway & Hallway...BM Nantucket Gray in our Living Room and BM Philadelphia Cream in our Kitchen and Sitting area. I love the combination of all 3 together...all are Matte.

Tell me your basic paint colors
I also have Shaker Beige in my foyer and upstairs hallway. That is my only real neutral (other living areas of my house are shades of green, blue, yellow, etc.).
As far as other neutrals, my friend just painted some of her house (hallways, etc.) in BM Mannequin Cream, and it looks really nice.

Re: Tell me your basic paint colors
There is nothing neutral about anything in my house but when we first painted I used Bone White in the entry and it was very neutral and warm.
Don't limit yourself you may like a little color!
