Having problems with a crib wedge!
My DD will be a week tomorrow and I'm not sure if it's just because she is so small, but she absolutely hates the crib wedge with positioner I'm using in her bassinet. She sleeps like an angel in her swing but once I place her in the bassinet she gets all fidgety, irritable and eventually cries. I don't know what to do because of all the hype about SIDS....
For those who use one, will this pass and how to you manage until then?
For those who don't use one, how do you put your LO to sleep at night?

I never used a positioner. I just put him in the bassinet and swaddled him

Re: Having problems with a crib wedge!
I never used a positioner. I just swaddled my DDs and placed them in the bassinet. When they were very small, I would roll up blankets and put them alongside their bodies to help them feel snuggie and cozy. HTH!
This is a pic of my DD#1 when she first came home from the NICU. After taking this pic, I would use the SwaddleMe instead of using a blanket to swaddle- soooo much easier!
ETA: Both DDs have reflux, so in the bassinet we propped up the mattresses with towels to create an incline. When they were sleeping in their cribs, we bought a crib wedge from BRU which also goes underneath the mattress to create an incline.

He hated his positioner at first, but swaddled with a binky, it was allllllll good!
Our positioner was a wedge too, so that helped. He needed it for reflux.

Re: Having problems with a crib wedge!
we didnt use one. We just swaddled him and put him to bed. Have you tired putting him to bed without one? Maybe he truly doesnt like it and would be more comfortable without it?
I could be wrong, but I thought positioners (that were not breathable) were not recommended bc they could potentially pose a SIDS risk?

This is exactly how they had DS sleeping in the hospital, with a rolled up blanket alongside him. I was a little shocked they did this will all the SIDS hype, like OP said, but if they are swaddled and can't move around its okay, I guess. He slept like this for almost a month, then just a swaddle.

Re: Having problems with a crib wedge!
Maybe I should have also included a photo... This is the one I have and I think it's because she can't keep her arms at her side or cuddled up that she doesn't like it. Ok, so far, it's been an hour. I swaddled her and removed the positioner and so far so good! It might be a bit too early to say that this might be alright but I think it's definitly an improvement. Thanks guys for your input
