How much do you tip the guy who helps with your Christmas tree?
If you go to a place where they cut the stump, net up your tree and tie it on your car roof for you, how much would you tip the guy?
We went to a farm and the guy did all the above, and when he saw us taking pictures with the farm animals he offered to take a picture of all of us. That was very nice and above and beyond IMO (I know he may have been looking for a tip too.) Dh thought I was too generous.
What do you normally tip, and what would you tip for above and beyond service?

I wouldn't have thought to tip for this, I would have thought it just goes along with the tree selecting experience.

This. We also bought our tree from a local fire department so the guy who helped us was a volunteer and wasn't getting a salary.

We tipped $5, but no tying the tree to the top - DH has a pick up truck

$5 except fro last year when we went to the farm and cut the tree down ourselves. The kid went above and beyond taking me around the farm to the "best" trees. Last year we tipped $10

We went to a local tree lot and there were big signs everywhere that said "Tree guys work for tips ONLY." It was also pouring rain when he tied it to the car. I gave him $10.

$10. It's snowing and he trimmed the top, trunk and branches off the bottom for us, plus tied it to our car.
