Myrtle Beach or Outer Banks
Which one is better? I have 12 year old twin boys, and not sure which one will have more things to do, they are very active and like to be busy. Thanks
Looking to rent a house. Do you use VRBO, or recommend any others?

Myrtle Beach would definitely be better for boys that age - there is a lot more to do.

Thanks, if we went to Myrtle Beach, was thinking of flying in, because Frontier flies there, and if it was the Outer Bank, we would drive.

we go to the outer banks every year and LOVE it... our boys are 8 and 5. they're super active, too- but still at the age where they're happy digging sand crabs and whatever. Depending on the are you stay in, there are miniature golf places, water sports rental places, off road beach tours, the Wright Brothers monument... but its definitely more low-key. But i would say with older boys, especially if they like to be busy, myrtle beach would definitely have more going on to break up the beach stuff.

Twiddy has a ton of rentals in the Outer Banks. Some of them are $$$$$ though

I’ve heard great things about the Outer Banks but we usually go to Myrtle Beach.
It is great and there are a ton of things to do for 12 year olds.
Just if you go, either stay in North Myrtle or close to (or in) Surfside Beach. The main strip can get seedy.

We go to Myrtle every year. There is a lot to do there. We will be flying Frontier there at the end of the month, hopefully we won't have any issues (previously we were forced to fly Spirit out of Laguardia). For a house I would check out VRBO. We stay in a condo about a 5 min drive from the beach, and near Broadway at the Beach (a place with lots of shopping and dining). Like another poster mentioned, don't stay in downtown MB because its seedy there.
