NYC restaurant ratings
I always see the ratings up in the windows of these places but never actually knew what went into them.
A friend and I were discussing it today, so I looked it up and found this site where you could look up restaurants and see what their rating is and what specifically they were cited for. Some of it is kind of horrifying!  For my own curiosity, I looked up the places that had a C and some of the stuff is just (one place said they didn't have equipment to clean/sanitize used utensils!)

I knew I shouldn't have looked at this! I've actually checked this site a while back, but what I didn't notice until now is that the restaurant can get an "A" even with evidence of mice or live mice! Ahhhhhhh!!!!! I'm just going to pretend I know none of this.

I used to be so anal retentive when it comes to the ratings and website detailing all the dirty deeds.
Now, so long as it doesn't have a 'C', I'll eat there.
The place has to be pretty disgusting to get a 'C'.
I've admittedly become much less of a germophobe over the past few years...what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and all..

NYC restaurant ratings
I live in NYC, so I see these signs all the time. I actually forgot that it was a NYC thing. The majority of places have As anyway. I'll eat somewhere with a B, but not if it's a sushi place.

I am bad. I won't give a b place my business but that's bad because i was reading that link about a Greek place we went to and it was fire stupid stuff like not having proper ventilation.

Yeah - it is pretty gross, but really - anywhere you go in NYC you are going to have mice and even roaches. It is just the nature of this city.

Same here...I'll also avoid C's if I'm not familiar with the place.

The info available out there is pretty gross, and a lot of times I'd rather just not know.
I'm not eating at a C. Period.
