Restaurant near AMNH
I'm taking the kids and one each of their friends to the Museum of Natural History on Thursday. I'd like to go someplace to eat as the basement cafeteria is ridiculous. I don't mind a short travel...any suggestions?
TIA

We are also going to the AMNH (Wednesday provided I'm well) and plan to go to Alice's Tea Cup after. It looks super cute!

Re: Restaurant near AMNH
We were just there & stopped by the Shake Shack It gets crowded, but it might not be that bad during the week. It's fast food, not a sit down restaurant, but they have excellent burgers & it's not very expensive.

Do they have tables and chairs? It looks perfect! But the 10 year olds probably won't be so good with the walk and eat. If there are tables & chairs...I'm there.

They do have tables. There is a small section on the side that you can see from the street, and then there is a larger room downstairs, which is probably the best bet since you'll have a group. I went on Saturday around 6, and it was crowded, so we ate on a park bench across the street since it wasn't that cold.
Your order & get a buzzer, so you may want to stake out a table why you wait, if you are ok with leaving the kids while you run upstairs to get the food.
The menu isn't huge (it is on the website) but if they all like burgers or hot dogs, it's good for kids. They have single burgers that are only $3.75, and probably good for 10 years olds or anyone who isn't that hungry. We went for dinner & got double burgers.
The burgers come plain & they ask if you want tomato, lettuce, pickles or onion--so it is good for pickier eaters.
