Those who have a Thomas the Train or Imaginarium Train Table?
My 3 year old has the Imaganinarium Train Table. My 1 year old keeps destroying it ...lol! Ripping off the tracks and pieces and making a huge mess! It takes my DH quite awhile to set it up again.
We are considering glueing it down to the table. My public library and Once Upon a Tree Top has train tables that are glued solid. Any suggestions or tips to this? Pros / cons? Thanks!

I considered this but decided against it. Part of the longevity of the table (we have the thomas the train one and it was pricey) is that it grows with the child. My 4.5 yr old still plays with it but, for way over a year now he is more interested in designing the tracks in new and different ways - sometimes they are even floating in the air supported by things underneath, all over the room, around tables, in different circular configurations with cities, towns, etc. I think once you glue it down it becomes a toy only good for a younger child because all they can do is push the train around the tracks. HTH!

We glued all the tracks down I. Imaginarium just like the display, with the exception of the pieces that you had to put batteries in the bottom. It was the best decision we ever made. Saved us hundreds of hours of cleanup time. DH and I got the table for christmas this past year, and we spent a couple of hours gluing it down a few days before . It was great that DS could play with it since it was already done.

They sell these things on Amazon called Suretracks. They hold the tracks in place without having to glue them down so that you can move them around again in the future.

Sure tracks will not prevent the one year old from destroying the tracks/bridges etc. We have them and they might be slightly helpful but they do come apart quite easily. My suggestion is to glue the tracks down and you can replace the board another time.

We glued ours down with wood glue. My 2 year would have destroyed it otherwise.
