Tyler Florence's Sprout line of baby food

I bought a few pouches of his baby food at Whole Foods. It seems really good. It is all organic and the ones I bought contained no additional ingredients besides the actual vegetable or fruit (i.e., pear only contained pears). Up until this point, I had been making my own.

Is there any reason that I should avoid his food? Is it really better to make my own?

I saw it, looks great...But its too much $$$ for me. Cheaper to make my own.

I tried the butternut squash and like you said, the only ingredient was roasted butternut squash. I tasted it also and it was good! DS loved it, but at over $1 per pouch, I think I will stick to making my own food.

But besides cost, is there any advantage to making your own since this line is organic and tasty?

great question. Sprout is made by baking and roasting flavors in their own natural juices. They are very portable for travel - unbreakable and lightweight, and they don't need to be frozen:) They also have the broadest variety of recipes on the market, with yummy combinations created by Tyler Florence. You can Upcycle the pouches for free at Terracycle.net and donate 2 cents per pouch to your favorite charity.
