How many oz/day of formula does your baby eat?

DS is 6 months old and he's down to 25oz of formula. My friend's doctor told her that her son should not drop below 32oz before the age of 1. I feel like DS doesn't eat enough. Right now his schedule is

8am - 6oz
10:30 - oatmeal & fruit
1:00 - 6oz
3:00 - 4/5oz
5:30 - oatmeal & veggie
7:30 - 8oz

I try to feed him with his oatmeal, but he won't eat it. My friend suggested only feeding oatmeal at night and doing just fruit in the morning, which is what she did with her son.

Anyone else care to share their schedule so I can get an idea of what others do? TIA!

I never heard not to drop below 32 oz. DS is 6 months old and currently taking 5 bottles a day for a total of about 32 oz, but his dr said he will prob drop a bottle soon, in which case he'd be below 32 oz. The dr didn't say this is an issue.

DS also has 2 meals a day. He's a hungry little guy, though, and I can't see him dropping the 5th bottle anytime soon. If your baby is happy on 25 oz a day, then I say that's fine!

As babies eat more food they begin to drop bottles. DD is 11 months and is getting in 18-20oz. My ped said not to drop below 18oz.

When she was 6 months it was between 28-32oz per day.

My ds is 6 months and my ped said btw 20-30 oz is good. Ds eats 21

dd dropped to 3 bottles a day at 7 months and has 8 oz each bottle- so she gets 24 oz a day since then and is totally fine

DD is 7 months and is now around 25 ounces but usually don't finish all of them. So usually around 23 on average I would say. She's been doing this for the last few weeks.

She is a big baby and we feed her twice a day, oatmeal, fruits/veggies.

Yesterday, she seemed hungry and had an extra 4 ounces. I think it's fine. You can't force feed them.

My ped said in the long run, the solid food is more important. She would eat cereal and fruit all day if I let her. We usually struggle with the bottles.

Edited to add, she will never eat more than 5-6 ounces at a time. The 6 is usually after first waking up, so she is more hungry.

I never heard to not drop below that level. as long as they are gaining weight and arent crying in hunger you should be ok

DD takes only 4 feedings per day - two feedings are 7oz bottles and 2 feedings are me nursing so i am not sure how much she gets but based on how much i pump my guess is around 7 oz. so she gets 28oz a day

she also gets a fruit or veggie in the morning and oatmeal or cereal in the evening.

in terms of a timing schedule her is what DD has been doing recently:
7am: nurse
11am: 7oz bottle
1pm: fruit (or veggie)
3pm: 7oz bottle
5:30pm - oatmeal (or cereal)
7:pm - nurse

depending on our schedule for the day the fruit will sometimes be around 9:30 am instead of 1pm

my dr said try not to go above 32 oz per day.

i've never heard of going below that.

dr wanted DD around 30ozs daily. Sometimes their intake drops if they are sick or teething.

I'd talk to you doctor since he/she is monitoring your babies progress and weight gain.

DD eats between 25 and 30 oz a day at almost 6 months... but barely ever 30

My dd is 7 mos and this is almost exactly her schedule and amounts. But I do try to give her lunch before the "lunch bottle".

I tried to consolidate the 2 middle bottles into one, but she still needs the two feedings, even though she drinks less at each one.

My daughter will be 6 months this week, she rarely even drinks 24 oz. per day and I spoon feed her breakfast and dinner, she's growing fine.

my girls drink about 24oz formula plus 2 feedings they are BF

first wake up: BF
9am: oatmeal & fruit
sometimes right after or an hour later they will drink 6oz of formula
12-12:30pm: 6oz
2pm: fruit and 6oz
6pm: 6oz
7:30pm: veggie
nurse before bed
