Step 2 Neat and Tidy Cottage II Assembly

Hi there.. Was hoping someone can help me. I'm 90% done with putting together the Step 2 Neat and Tidy Cottage II. It's been a total PITA which is frustrating b/c all the reviews said easy assembly (ok maybe its me..lol)

Anyway, anyone have one of these and can offer some help on this step? I can't seem to figure out that this is where the screws go, when they are exposed from the top of the house (even slightly but it still seems odd to me)?

THANK YOU!

I did. and I still don't get what I'm missing. I feel like an idiot haha

My DH isn't all that handy nor does he have patience for this stuff. Getting it this far was impressive.

ii think they go on the sides through the roof and into the sides of the piece. It's hard to explain but on the left and right side.

But I do know we had a screw or 2 left over lmao, and it's still up.

I just assembled it too... I think I skipped that step and went right to putting the screws in the roof because I figured it would all stay in place from the roof screws and the grooves.

some of those pieces in the begining were a reall PITA to get lined up

Ok that makes me feel better. From all the reviews I read, I thought it just me who had a hard time.

The house is all assembled except for two of the four screws that go in the grill. But I'm ok with that. Just couldn't get those screw holes to work....

I assembled one for DS. I skipped that step and just screwed on the roof. To this day there are no screws there but it doesn't really matter, DS used to just shake it to make a noise.

Some of these toys are a hoot

I remember it took one Alan wrench and 45 minutes to assemble a crib and 3 hours and 2 power tools to assemble a step 2play kitchen!

HA! This made me seriously laugh out loud. DD loves the house and I hope to never again buy anything like that
