Can anyone recommend a house inspector?
We're going to start looking at houses soon and I want to find a reputable inspector for when the time comes.

we used Jamie from Housemaster 3 times and were really pleased. They give you a binder with a printout of the inspection at the end if it and email it to you right then too.

We have used Safe Harbor twice (our first house deal fell through). They were extremely professional and thorough.
We got our inspection within a day via e-mail complete with pictures and recommendations on how to correct any problems.
I think we paid $525

we used division home inspections
Fred was great!
last year he charged $400 for home inspection and termite inspection total.

We just purchased our home in December and we had an excellent inspector- Ed White from Ed White Inspections. He is a retired FDNY chief and extremely thorough- he was in every area of the house including all the crawl spaces etc and he gave us a a report online including pictures. FM me if you want his information.

Tausher Cronacher. Can't say enough good things about them. I highly recommend asking for Charlie Butt to do your inspection. We've used him twice and he's incredibly thorough. They include the termite inspection that will satisfy your mortgage requirement. Another bonus is that they ONLY use licensed engineers and architechts who are also licensed home inspectors -- not someone who is just a home inspector.
ETA - We paid $470.
