A question - not fertility related!

Hi Ladies

I wonder if you can help? I have two friends staying with me from Australia & New Zealand - they would like to go to the Hamptons & or wine country - any ideas on nice but not expensive hotles or Inns? Also apart from walking & wineries & outlets is there much open out there right now? Any suggestions or ideas would be welcome. Have tried internet but not much pops up????

There is a really nice Best Western in Riverhead (much nicer than you would imagine a Best Western to be). East of that you are most likely staying at a Bed & Breakfast, which can be risky. There aren't really any large hotels that I know of and prices out there can be high, even though you are in the off-season.

There are some nice towns out there to walk around. Southampton is pretty to walk around; if you go out to Montauk there is Gosman's (a little village with a few restaurants). Sag Harbor is a nice town also and there is a little playhouse; the shows are pretty good, my parents go occasionally.

Not sure if they do it at this time of year, but you can go Whale Watching off the eastern end of Long Island too. You could also take a ferry to Shelter Island -- not sure what there is to do there, but it is very pretty.

My parents have a house in the Hamptons and I have spent a good amount of time out there. The stores and restaurants are open year-round and you probably won't have to deal with the crowds this time of year.
