Easy Dessert Recipe needed

I am going to my cousin's new house for the first time this Friday. SHe is having a jewelry party...anyway, I want to bring a dessert...not cookies...but an EASY dessert... not a lot of ingredients. nothing too tricky... but yummy!

Oooh I have a good one and it's always a hit. It's a Fake Out Napoleon. So simple too. All you need is:

graham crackers
large container of cool whip
package of vanilla pudding (powder)
vanilla frosting
chocolate frosting

-Mix pudding powder into cool whip
in a rectangular/square pan
-layer graham crackers and cool whip mixture (like lasagna)
-after last layer of graham crackers pour vanilla frosting all over the top (I microwave the tub of frosting for a few seconds to loosen it so it's pourable)
-Dot chocolate frosting randomly and drag a butter knife through it to create swirls like on a real napoleon. Refrigerate for a few hours before serving

I usually use a square pan that you'd bake brownies in. Not sure of the size.

Oreo No Bake Cake
Ingred...

28 Oreo Cookies
1 stick butter, softened
1 pkg softened cream cheese
1 cup confectioners sugar
8 oz Cool Whip
1 sm package instant chocolate pudding
1 small package instant vanilla pudding
3 cups of milk
**Also need pie pan

Directions..........

1. First crush the oreos and mix with the butter. Pack the mixture in the bottom of the pie pan
2. Blend cream cheese, sugar, and 1/2 container of cool whip. Pour over cookie crust
3. Mix chocolate and vanilla pudding with 3 cups of milk, beat well
4. Pour over cream cheese mixture
5.Cover with remaining cool whip and top with crushed oreo cookies
****6. Refrigerate atleast 1 hour. HOLDS BEST IF REFRIGERATED OVER NIGHT!

Chocolate Bread Pudding
Makes 8 servings

1 cup brown sugar
2 tbs cocoa powder
1 tbs cinnamon
3 eggs, beaten
6 oz dark chocolate, melted
1 tbs vanilla extract
3 1/2 cups heavy cream (I used light cream and it was still really good)
1 cup milk (I used skim)
6 cups of stale bread, cubed (You can use the sliced bread ex. Wonder Bread..I cut the edges off..Next time, I am going to try a whole wheat bread..bet ya you can't tell the difference)
2 tbs butter, cubed (I used the yogurt stuff we both like)
1 cup chocolate chips

Heat oven to 350F. In bowl, combine brown sugar, cocoa powder, cinnamon, eggs, melted chocolate and vanilla extract. Stir in heavy cream and milk; mix until blended. Add bread cubes; toss to evenly coat. Let stand 10 minutes or until bread is completely saturated. Pour mixture into a greased 13x9x2 pan. Dot top with butter and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake 1 hr or until bubbly and golden. Remove and let cool slightly. Cut into squares and serve warm with a dollop of freshly whipped cream and fruit, if desired.

Total time: 1 hr., 10 min plus cooling time

Whenever I want to make an EASY dessert that leaves an impression, I always make chocolate covered strawberried and chocolate covered dried apricots.

They look beautiful when they're arranged on a platter and almost everyone loves them!

I just melt an equal mix of milk chocolate with dark chocolate (I usually buy different brands too... a mix of expensive and cheap). Heat chocolate in a double boiler and add 1 tablespoon of crisco to make the chocolate smoother.

Dip fruit letting excess chocolate run off the strawberries. Lay on wax paper and do not refrigerate! (this is where many people go wrong). Let them cool at room temp and store them somewhere cool (I usually keep them covered in my garage until I am ready to go)

oooo thanks so much! Some good ones there and I especially like the tips for the chocolate covered fruit... I did not know that they should not be refrigerated.. I made them once, i should say tried to and they looked awful, tasted good though

these are easy and yummy!

Cheesecake Topped Brownies
Ingredients
(1) 21 ½ oz fudge brownie brownie mix (can use betty crocker fudge brownies 13x9 family size red box)
(1) 8oz package cream cheese softened
2 tbsp margarine or butter softened
1 tbsp corn starch
(1) 14oz can eagle brand condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
1 egg
1tsp vanilla extract
1 can chocolate frosting
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare brownie mix as directed on box.
Spread into well greased 13x9 baking pan.
In a small bowl beat cream cheese, butter and cornstarch until fluffy.
Gradually beat in sweetened condensed milk, then the eggs and the vanilla until smooth.
Pour evenly over brownie batter. Bake 30 – 35 minutes or until top is lightly browned.
Let cool then frost with chocolate frosting.

I usually omit the butterscotch chips and use a double portion of the choc. chips and it still works out fine.

If you serve it hot with ice cream it's even better!

I always have the ingredients for flan in my house. All you need is sugar, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, and eggs. There are different recipes, but this one is pretty easy.

First take 3/4 cup of sugar in sauce pan, on med, carmelize it. Ususally takes 8-10 minutes to turn to a liquid.

Then while still hot, pour into round pan. Should coat the bottom. Let sit and harden.

Preheat oven to 350. Then take bowl, 8 eggs, can of sweetened condensed milk, and tbsp of vanilla(sometimes I will add almond if I ran out of vanilla)

beat together.

Pour into pan over the hardened sugar.

Then take large roasting pan, line with dishtowel, fill with water about 1/2 an inch up. Then place pan inside roasting pan.

Bake about 45 minutes. Let cool, then flip onto serving plate.

I make it a lot for DH. Sometimes I get creative and will add pumpkin, or cocoa mix and orange rine with grand mariner. Once I had guava paste and added that in. Very basic.

no problem!! Its a funny story about how I first started. MIL was not willing to give up recipe to me. DH is PR, so flan is his favorite dessert. I think she wanted to save it so he will visit her and look forward to it.

So about 4 years ago, we were heading out to the PR day parade. DH got called into work, he was bummed since he was looking so forward to the food. So I went to the grocery store, printed out recipes in spanish, and stood in the goya isle looking for help. These 2 great PR ladies were so helpful. translated and hooked me up.

I wound up sharing a cab home with them, they came back the next night to my house with blood sausage! DH was in heaven and told me to always make friends in the goya isle.
