Need advice again....
I feel like a lunatic, probably because Im sleep deprived. So Matthew is much bigger than Christopher. Not sure what he weighs, but he fits in his 3 months clothes. My question is we put him down at 8-9 pm and then he wakes up at 2 am to be fed, but he only drinks about 2 or maybe 3 ozs. and then falls back to sleep. I feel he doesnt need that feeding anymore. Any advice on how to get him to sleep longer? Do I feed him a little more before we put him down? Im NOT big fan of letting them CIO..Im sorry I just feel that it is too early for them to be CIO, I kinda think it is cruel. Maybe soothing him with a binkie?? Inf so how long do you do it for?

Re: Need advice again....
I'm not going to be much help, because to get Jack (my smaller one) past that 1-2 AM feeding i did let him CIO. I never let him get to the point of being hysterical, but he would just more cry whine to be fed. After 2-3 nights of this he just gave up. He still does it occassionally, and i just let him go. Sometimes i pick him up to burp him, so he sees me and knows i hear him and still won't feed them.
Can you get any advice from your pediatrician. I waited till mine told me that they were both at good weights that they don't need that feeding before i did this. Maybe he is not big enough yet?? Just a thought.
Honestly, i had to do this for my sanity. I could not go much longer with them having three feedings a night.

Re: Need advice again....
I would be of no help at all. I am not a fan of CIO - maybe thats why mine still don't sleep thru the night. Eventually, they just slept longer. Hailey will sleep until about 4 am now. She still won't give up her bottle yet, which I'm sure is my fault, but like I said I can't deal with them CIO. Its hard they share a room and I don't want one waking up the other. I feel for you though!
eta: there is 4-5 pounds between them. Hailey weighs alot more than Zachary.

Re: Need advice again....
Yes give him a binky. Thats what i do and it works and they go back to sleep. One of my twins Syd is almost 20lb and Reese is 14 1/2 pounds they are 9 months old. So don't worry about the weight difference all babies are made different.

I would try giving him a bit more before bedtime.

Re: Need advice again....
Hang in there...my boys never slept great! Try topping them before bedtime and than maybe comfort them through the early wake up. My doctor had told me they sometimes wake up out of routine and not hunger... see how it goes if you buy some time, if they sleep a few more hours than its worth it. If they don't settle in, than I would say its worth giving them even a few ounces if they quiet down so you can sleep! Good luck!

I would put him to bed a little earlier and give him a little more. I noticed when I put Luka to bed earlier he stopped waking up in the middle of night and also slept longer.
