Re: MelissaMac
My advice: relax. C-sections aren't as bad as you'd think! You'll have a nice period of recovery time in the hospital... so enjoy it and rest!

Re: MelissaMac
Good Luck!!!
After the c-section make sure you get up and walk. Also, you want to make sure you get the gas out of you, sicne if it builds up it will hurt.
Also, when they do the spinal, well for me at least, DH was not allowed in the room, I kept thinking they would forget to go get him and he would have to stay outside, but after they lay you down they brought him in.

Good luck. I can't even imagine making it to 39 weeks.
I had a scheduled c-section myself and I think it was a breeze. I worked myself up over a lot of things, but most things were fine. The spinal was not as bad as i imagined (but as Michelle said your husband is not allowed in the room). They were operating on me and i didn't even know it. Also, be prepared to be in recovery longer. At Winthrop if you have twins you have to be in there 6 hours (compared to 2 for other mommy's). The Spinal wears off around an hour. And you don't get to see your babies till after you are out of recovery (at least for me). That sucks!!
Take it easy, but they will make you get up within 24 hours. Once you are up, walk as much as you can. It really made me feel better.
Good luck!!
