Funny you should ask... the boys are being christened this Sunday. We are only having our parents, siblings (godparents) and grandparents over afterward for an informal meal. We figure sometime in February we'll have a big party, we just feel like it's too soon to expose them to EVERYONE at once.

This is what we were thinking about doing. Just doing something very small, and not even having a big party at all.

I think that our extended family would be hurt if we didn't have them over officially to celebrate - they like those sort of events

Ours is booked for February (well the church is anyway). As for the party we're doing immediate family and my aunts, uncles and cousins - DH's is all out of town. It's so small that we're having a problem finding a place to have it...we have to go looking this weekend.
I can't wait for it!  Everyone else too?

I had a baby naming ceremony since we are not religious and it was at thier 3 month birthday. We had 50 people and it was at the holiday inn in Ronkonkoma, they did a nice job. I wanted it more in a restaurant but could not find a place for 50 near me, evey place was about 30 - 35.

We are baptizing our boys in February when they are 5 months (we wanted to avoid the holiday season). We are just going to have a small thing at a restaurant with immediate family only. I think we would rather have a big 1st birthday instead.
