mini update: i held him down and scratched his teeth and a clump came off of both fangs. it smelt SSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad. so so so so so bad.
maybe thats what was making his breathe smell so bad.
he hates the vet, so im tryng to think of something i can do.
i will try those breathe frehsners, but ive never foudn them to work on him

Have your DH hold him while you brush his teeth - that's the only thing that will make it better.
BTW, he's not raiding the litter box is he? Misty went through a litter box phase and she would have clumps of it stuck in her teeth - so grossssssss!!!

These are "quick fix" solutions and don't get to the heart of the problem, which is usually bacteria or tartar build up. As much as he hates it, Jes, you may just have to get him used to you brushing his teeth. It makes for a better overall quality of health. Our vet also does a full dental cleaning on the boys once a year and tells us to brush their teeth every day. In reality, we brush every other day but bad breath can be a sign of a bigger issue.

It could be rotting teeth. When we took Katie to get her teeth cleaned they removed 7 rotting teeth. Her breath is so much better! I really suggested getting his teeth cleaned - it works wonders!
