Starting Lupron tomorrow - how hard is that first injectible?
Has a nightmare last night about giving myself that first shot. I know I can do it - just nervous. Any words of wisdom to help me out?

stick to a schedule (pardon the pun) same time every night, count to three, and inhale on the inject - it helps to distract me - good luck

Don't overthink it...it's better to just mix the injection and do it quickly. The thinking is the worst part. Once you do it, you'll be fine!

Thanks guys....for some reason they want me to do it in the morning....oh well. Thanks for the words of encouragement - first one tonight then every morning until 1/3/07.

the needle is microfine! It's the thought of injecting it into yourself that's hard! I am a nurse an d just didn't want to do it to myself but it's really not that bad Good Luck!

Ladies - it wasn't that bad - you were right! I did one last night and one this morning. Thank you for your words of encouragement! I just went with the flow, didn't make a big deal about it and did it. Didn't really hurt at all. This morning it hurt a bit more and the area got irritated (maybe because it's cold) but overall it was fine! I think I can handle this and hopefully will result in a nice present at the end!

yes it was...I used to have DH do it, then I realized I had to do this myself, and once I did it for the first time, I became a pro...it was the PIO shots DH had to do.
YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

WHen i did my injections i would numb the area with a ice pack before. and that would help a little. Good luck.

Also, make sure you alternate sides. If you do them in your belly - do left one day and right the next. It will minimize the pain and/or bruising.
