If a recipe calls for margarine...
can I use butter instead? I otherwise don't use margarine so whatever's left will go to waste (the recipe is for raspberry bars)

Butter burns a lot faster, so sometimes margarine is used in recipes so that the item can cook longer and be done with out the burning.
