Anna Nicole Smith, who’s been hiding out in the Bahamas for several months, turned up in a San Francisco court Friday morning.

The former Playboy Playmate and current TrimSpa spokeswoman arrived at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals with her companion and legal beagle Howard K. Stern, to participate in mediation between a judge and the family of J. Howard Marshall II, her late oil tycoon husband, over her much-disputed share of his $1.6 billion estate.

Anna Nicole's daughter Dannielyn -- who was born in September in the Bahamas, just days before her son Daniel died in her hospital room -- was nowhere to be seen. Anna Nicole’s ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead -- who says he is Dannielyn's biological father, not Stern, who has proclaimed he is -- told E! Online on Friday that Dannielyn remained back in the Bahamas.

Stern was also served with legal papers outside the courthouse for allegedly giving perjured statements in connection with Birkhead's paternity suit, Birkhead told E! Online. Birkhead has for months demanded that Anna Nicole and Stern return to the U.S. to undergo drug and DNA testing. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert A. Schneider is deciding whether or not to order Anna Nicole to undergo the testing. Judge Schneider is expected to issue a writing ruling this week.
