I'm fostering for the first time this Christmas.
This little guy was slated to be put to sleep at New York Animal Control. He does have a foster home to go to on t he 7th of January, but needed someone to help him in between in order to be saved. So he will be coming home to me on Saturday. This is my christmas gift to him. This time of year countless animals are put down, of course they are year round too, but the holidays always increase the numbers.
Please don't buy when these beautiful dogs have to die.
And let's hope Skip finds the best forever family possible.

AWESOME!!! lucky little guy. this strikes a nerve for me because i adopted my sophie from the nyc shelter and it was not a nice place at all... so i'm super happy to see at least one dog getting out of there to a cozy foster home.

Well little Skip came home today. Man...he REALLY deserved to be saved! He is the sweeeetest little boy. I wish I could keep him. It's just such a bad time right now. He is housebroken, great with other dogs, mellow. and a little cuddlebug. I can't beleive if I didn't take him , and also another permanant foster home in 2 weeks, that he would have died wednesday. It makes me so sad for all of those animals that don't mak it out of shelters.

OMG, i get so sick over this too. i just can't believe how many wonderful pets die  makes me want to buy a big home with plenty of land and just take in as many strays as i can and find them homes... that's one of my dreams...
