Where to go?

Other than all the drivethroughs (Dunkin' Donuts, bank, fast food etc.) I've been taking them to, I'm ready to go out with them, but where? I feel like anywhere you go has to be for awhile - I'm not getting 2 newborns out of the car to go to CVS for 10 minutes. Any ideas??? The mall, the food store....where do you take your newborn or infant twins? Chat Icon

Re: Where to go?

I totally hear you! I usually do errands that require a longer stay (I reserve dry cleaning/post office for when DH is home). I like to go to the mall, even if it is just to walk around. Near me there are a couple of stores grouped together which are handy (babies r us, Target, etc). I'll also go to Trader Joe's if I need a few items. I try to meet friends out to lunch between their feedings which is a nice outting too. It's a tough call, but I feel like once spring arrives, it will be easier to take them out to walk around or walk on a main street. Chat Icon

I'm also looking into programs at my local library which seem like a worthwhile and more valuable experience for the little ones!Chat Icon

Do you think there are library programs for babies this young? I've heard of some music program not too far from me, I'm going to look into that and I'll let you know the details.

Re: Where to go?

My local library has a Mother Goose rhyme time from birth - 24 months so I figured I'd look into it. If I don't like it, at least I haven't spent a fortune on it!Chat Icon

Def. let me know about the music program!

I know...it is like that EVERYWHERE I go.
Even last night...we went to Smokey Bones, and EVERYONE was staring at us

I actually BECAME one of those people! I left the boys home with DH and went to Target last weekend. I saw a woman with twins and I struck up conversation and told her about mine! I felt so naked without themChat Icon

Yes I was thinking that - has anyone been to Woodbury Commons in Woodbury? I haven't been in years and I'm not sure if I can maneuver my "bus" in and out of those stores - anyone??

Re: Where to go?

Me and my SIL went to target last week with the boys. She didn't believe me how many people come up to me at stores...until she saw it. Especially since they are identical so many people are fascinated by how much they look alike. We counted in 45 minutes 13 people came up to us. One woman literally had her hands on the stroller which bugged me out.

I still refuse to do the mall. I rarely take them out to stores. I think in 4 months I have taken them out (besides walks) three times.

Re: Where to go?

Woodbury Commons is a good place. Everything is close together only one trip out of the car. How old are your twin? I take them to the Walt Whitman mall a lot just to walk around (and lose this weight). I found some resturants are easier to put car seats in booth. I do feel that when I am anywhere, mall or rest. it too is an invitation for anyone to stop and talk.
