Relationship w/ DH
How are you all getting along w/ DH? Its been such a huge adjustment for both of us and hard for us to have our own time to do anything (workout, read, etc). Its been really getting to DH and we've been fighting like crazy. It kills me to see our marraige go so downhill but I am not sure what to do about it. We have limited family in the area to babysit, i am looking into getting some part time babysitting help just so we can get out together and reconnect. How did you get through it? What do you do to make it work?

Re: Relationship w/ DH
I know what you are going through. Jay was just telling me last night that we hardly spend any time together. It is so hard. In the beginning when Christopher cried constantly and we were both so sleep deprived it was very hard and we fought like crazy. Things have gotten a lot better. When they go down at night around 8-9pm if we are still awake we just cuddle on the couch or rub each other's feet. Can you get someone to babysit them for a few hours and go out on a "date". Do dinner and a movie??

Re: Relationship w/ DH
Our realtionship actually got better IMO, with a few excpetions when I feel majorly stressed. We really felt like a team, and Vin did so much more then anyone ever thought he would do ( I knew he would, but everyone told em I was nuts).
Once the boys started going to bed at 8:00 pm, we were able to spend that time together which was nice, we would try to clean up and make bottles for 30 minutes after bedtime and then would have the rest of the night to relax. We also get to spend time on the weekends when they nap together which is great. We don't get out much together, but we try to make the most of our alone time at home.

Re: Relationship w/ DH
It has gotten a lot tougher to do certain things and make time for one another, yet it has improved so much too because it's so amazing to see him with our children. It's constant work though to make time for each other and we have a lot of family and friends who have offered to watch the babies so we can do a date night.
Maybe joining a twin group or mommies group would make things easier. I hear a lot of times mom's make friends and babysit for each other. You need someone to watch the kids so you can sometimes get away.

I agree! We spend a lot of time feeding the girls together and playing but as far as alone time we only get that about once a week, if that, if we get a sitter. I feel bad asking people to sit for two so it's hard!
DDs also don't go to sleep until we do either so we're lucky if we spend about 15 minutes unwinding before we go to sleep. Luckily DH makes his own schedule, so if I need help with feedings or something, he doesn't have to be "at his desk" at 9 sharp, but can go in later. So he has been very helpful in that respect.
Definitely try and find someone to sit for you, or even getting out on your own I find helps because a) it shows DH what hard work it is, and he appreciates your efforts so much more and b) it clears your head. I try to get out for at least an hour a night when DH comes home from work...its usually when they're fed and napping so we both have somewhat of a break.
