Got back from Ireland

DH and I got back from Ireland last week. We had an awesome time. We stayed with relatives in Dublin, then went to their place in Donegal with my cousin and his family. From there, DH and I did our own thing-some of the things we did-went to Clifden, Inishbofin Island, Kenmare, Ring of Kerry, the coast of Cork, Kinsale, Kilkenny and then made our way back to Dublin. We saw so much stuff, met really nice [people, and had a blast! I had been there 15 years ago for my cousin's wedding, but haven't been back since now. We hope to make it back someday soon. It was great!!

Glad to hear you had a great time. DH and I just moved home from Ireland in May we lived in Dublin for 18 months. I loved the west coast, it is so beautiful.

DH has family in Donegal!!!! So warm and welcoming!!!!!

We also drove to the Dingle Peninsula and had a bite to eat. We took the "shortcut" over Conor's Pass. It was literally the side of the mountain!!!! Thank God DH was driving, cause I was like Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

We went over the Connor Pass too and it was a horrible day, you couldn't see 2 feet in front of you the fog was so bad. It was very scary.

Re: Got back from Ireland

We're spending a week there after our Mediterranean Cruise for our hm...was it rough driving? We are flying into Dublin & plan on driving down & around & flying out from Shannon.

Driving in Ireland is a bit scary sometimes. Driving on the opposite side of the road takes some getting used too and some of the roads are pretty treacherous. After awhile you get used to it. It isn't so bad that you shouldn't take the road trip.

ETA - If you are going to Ireland you have to see the Cliffs of Mohr. We had the most amazing day when we where there.

some of the roads in the country are pretty bad, but like mommy2alex said, not so bad that you shouldn't risk it. It's a beautiful country and worth driving on those horrible roads to see some of the things. If you want some suggestions, let me know!

When we were there in August there was a lot of work going on. But it didn't distract from the view. There's going to be a new visitor's center, if I remember correctly, and they were doing some other stuff too.
