odd cat behavior
Okay so what does this mean?
My cat sometimes will go over to his bowls of water/food and underneath it is a towel (for when he spills it). Well sometimes he goes over and pushes the towel around (like he's digging... similar to when he's trying to hide his poop in the kitty litter), which covers his food.
Does that mean he doesn't like his food? What does this mean???

Re: odd cat behavior
My cat has done this since he was a kitten and he is now 10. I have absolutely no idea but I do know that he loves his food! Don't worry, they are just quirky.

My cat does that too but that's because she's looking for more food. She'd eat 3 cans if we left them out.

Re: odd cat behavior
I think it's an instinct for wild animals to bury any trace of themselves to avoid detection by predators. This includes their droppings and food. I think burying the food is also a way of "hiding" it from scavengers......
Sounds like your kitty is in touch with his "wild side".
Mine are in touch with their "party animal side" as they throw their litter and food around like confetti.....

That is hysterical because he's probably trying to hide it from his brother Rocky. Whenever Tiger is eating, rocky of course has to come over and eat too and Tiger hates that! So... that would make sense!
