Leaving on 2/3 to get our Jason
Well the big day is 2/3 We are flying to Ethiopia on Sat. 2/3 and will arrive on Sunday 2/4 at 7:50pm local time Thankfully we are flying biz class
We will get the baby the next morning...but I am hoping that they allow us to peak into his nursery that night. I am not sure how that works.
We are planning our trip and activities. We are planning on going to AHOPE= the HIV+ orphanage to play with the children for a few hours and treat them to ice cream (and of course bring some donations and candy). I am also hoping to go to the Fistula hospital and give the women there candy.
We will bring Jason with us on a few local trips to see some of the sights, of course.
We have lots of getting ready to do. Molly is in her new big-girl room and her new furniture arrived Thurs. so we are moving things around and getting the final details on her room done. I have to go buy curtains this week.
Then my husband as to prime Jason's nursery which is really emotional for me since he has to paint over Molly's mural. But I am sure once I see the room looking ready for Jason I will not be so sad. I got his crib bedding last week and did some clothes shopping for him too.
I am going to be a mom of 2 in a few weeks and honestly, I have no clue how to pull that off while working full-time but I guess I will just have to figure it all out.

No. Molly is staying here. In our opinion bringing her to a 3rd World country is just not a good idea. Some parents do but we feel she is too young and there is too much risk. The jet lag alone would be so difficult. Plus we want a few days to bond and care for Jason. He needs some of our undivided attention.
But Molly will have fun back here with her 2 grandma's and Aunt Diane I am sure she will eat cookies and ice cream every day.

That makes sense. It's so exciting for you! We're thinking of adopting an older child in a few years so it's so interesting to read about everyone's journey on here.

Clothing is always needed but they also need simple things like toothbrushes, infant medicines that we just run to CVS for, band-aids, board books (I got a bunch for $1 each at AC Moore), and the kids LOVE polaroid photos so we are bring one that makes the sticker prints. We heard they are a big hit. And I am bring hard candies for them too.
