Medical Cartoons

My DH's endocrinologist is also a cartoonist. He draws cartoons to explain various conditions, especially diabetes and high cholesterol.

It's more for adults than kids but it is a fun way to learn. My DH is even going to ask him if he can add more about living with diabetes. The cartoon explains how diabetes happens, but people need better information about what diabetics go through and why. DH finds that so many people do not understand the insulin-sugar thing or why a diabetic who gets treatment often gets low sugar. There is good info about sugar testing, though.

Anyway, I really enjoy these cartoons and the characters. The "Pancreas Tour Mobile" cracks me up, as does the drawing. of the limp body that represents a pancreas that is not working well. It's done in a non-offensive way.

As I said, there is more than just diabetes info there.
