Anyone see Oprah yesterday?

I thought she was so rude the the girl dealing with infertility on her show about women in their 30's

She showed absolutely no compassion, meanwhile on the next segment she is reaching out to hold the hand of the woman who was fulfilling her dream of meating Oprah

That aside, the girl dealing with infertility voiced everything I feel

But Helen I dont know what bothered you. Meeting Oprah is soooo much more important than overcoming infertility

She has a whole thread about her experience on the show on the Vets board

WOW! I read the posts and Im SOOO glad I didnt see it. What an insult. And how hard it must have been for that girl to put herself out there like that and then thats the response she gets

One of these talk shows HAS to do something about the issue of infertility.
Im so tired of all these other BS issues.
Maybe if we all write something someone will do one

Our hope was Oprah....Look how she
messed that up. I also wrote to Oprah..so I am sure she got a ton of email.

I sometimes wish these Celebrities who suffered from IF would be our Voice. I do not know what it's gonna take for someone to Listen to us.

Ok so I just watched it. She SO doesn't get it. She just doesn't. I thought the girl was very good though, she looked a bit exasperated with Oprah, maybe if your'e on the show your'e not allowed to get annoyed with Oprah.

Oprah just doesn't get it, not at all. I don't think she really cares, lets face it talking about infertility is hardly headline grabbing enough for her is it?

Well, I missed this episode but from what I read with the link LisaW posted, I am just fuming from what I read. Can anyone who actually saw the show give some examples of what actually was said because I would LOVE to write a very strongly worded letter to the producers of the Oprah show. I am not a huge fan of hers to being with but Oprah might want to try experiecing what INF is like before passing judgement on someone else

I saw it and was crying. I love Oprah but she REALLY DID NOT GET IT!!!!!

After reading the link that Lisa W posted it made me realize that oo am going to write a letter to Oprahs producers.

I really hope they actually revisit this topic appropriately instead of sweeping it under the rug like they did on the show that aired.

I saw the episode but I really think it was Oprah being Oprah. She has always had a very blaze attitude when it's a situation that she doesn't have any direct experience with. I thought her comment about adopting a child will probably allow them to relax enough and BAM she'll get pregnant was more out of ignorance then just not caring. I thought the woman did a nice job of bringing it back and telling her, no, my body will never get pregnant on it's own.

Have you considered trying to get a petition together with IVFConnect?
Brooke Shields and the 2 Dixie Chicks are pretty vocal. What if a bunch of women from IVFConnect got together and wrote them a letter asking for more public support with the issues. Diedre Hall had many years of infertility and is outspoken about her methods for having a family- did she go thru IVF first? If so she may be another person to go to.

HUGS! I think Oprah does some amazing things in this World and I wish she could have seen this issue as important as well. She has the ability to do did to feel these emotions if she allowed herself to. Maybe if you all go to Rosie and ask her to do segments on the issue she would listen.

Ok, I saw it. I really didn't think she was insensitive. She was kind of, like blah about the subject, but not mean or insensitive.
