Do you guys have highlights, no? I just took all of mine out, I like the look, finally the shine is back.

I would love to go back to non-highlighted hair, but my natural color is SO dark, that I feel washed-out.
I do miss my shiny, healthy hair, though....

I've been doing low lights with only a few highlights and I like it much better now. My hair doens't look like straw and I love the extra shine it has.
I still can't go back to dark brown though, I feel I need a little something extra.
I think even my colorist was surprised that I wanted my hair darker. I guess she's so used to everyone wanting to lighten their hair, that when I said, "No, darker", she was a little worried that I'd hate it.

I used to highlight the crap out of my hair- it went from epresso brown to blone
now it's back to all brown- dark brown- and I love it
it's so shiney - I like it so much- and it's cheaper

I used to get highlights, but once we knew were were getting married I stopped...tooooooo expensive.
Thankfully my natural color came back and now I can finally see my own natural highlights....it makes me wonder why I highlighted my hair to begin with. This is so much better...not only for my appearance, but for my bank acct too!

I do highlights and low lights and overall color, it's crazy and I have to stop, but I just love love love the way it looks. I get so many compliments, I wish my natural hair color didn't look like dirty dishwater.

i have them - i like them - although they are really heavy right now - i have tried the au natural hair before but i always go back to the highlights - I actually think my hair feels better with them, which i know is so backwards

Hmmm...I was considering doing lowlights in a couple of weeks after I get my hair straightened, but my fear is my hair will look dry like others have stated.

same, exactly. i see old pics of myself and my hair was just soo dark and i am just so pale...i think the highlights brighten me up, but at the same time i have noticed a lot of damage to my hair.
eta to add that i have lowlights too

i look gross with dark hair
it makes me look blah
the lighter hilights brighten up my face
granted they look tons better when i am tan, but still, i feel so blahg and unnoticable with darker hair
