OK on another note....
We are supposed to speak positive thoughts and have faith sooo I thought it would be interesting to see if any of you ladies have thought of what types of bedding, strollers, etc you want when you get pg. I have been browsing target and BBB and BRU and they have such beautiful things. I can't wait to register!!! I know some people (like DH) are superstitous but my mom was telling me a story that she heard of a lady who was in her 40's and had done IVF before and it didn't work. The lady believed that she was going to have a baby even though IVF failed for her so she continued buying baby stuff and putting it away. Everyone thought she was crazy....but she ended up having twins thorough IVF and then getting pregnant again naturally. So she went from 0 to 3!!! I'm thinking positive thoughts for all of us.

Re: OK on another note....
I am glad that you can remain so positive, ahhh the joys of being a newbie.
BUt the vet in me feels like you just told the IF board "relax and you will get pregnant". That doesnt feel very good.
In regards to your question I was soooooo looking at stuff my 1st and 2nd cycle . By the 3rd and fourth reality hit and I spent the 2WW preparing for my BFN. Neither outlook has been successful for me.
I wish you the best of luck and hope that your journey is a short one.

Re: OK on another note....
In the beginning, so loooong ago, I thought about those things.
But, five years and almost 100k later this is the furthest thing from my mind.
In fact, I cry just thinking of it, and on most days can't even fathom going into a baby store or section.
I think you'll find that many of the girls that have been here for a while feel the same way.

Re: OK on another note....
Unfortunatly even now I feel like the other girls do. I feel even PG like an imposter. I feel awkward in the stores and remember how I avoided them when TTC.
It was fun pre TTC or at first to think of what if and the future, but then reality set in and it was cold and harsh and this type of thought made it depressing.
I wish I could have been as optimistic as you are. I hope that stays with you

Re: OK on another note....
I agree, not to shoot down your theory - but I remember when we first started trying I would be in baby stores or sections thinking about what I would get if I got PG and now, two years later, I'm sort of glad I haven't done anything of the sort.

Re: OK on another note....
I think that it is great to be so positive. From a personal stand point the only time I venture into baby stores etc. is when I have to get a gift for someone & then I am in & out like a bullet, Can't handle it.
My sisters in law have kept all their baby clothes for me. Being as they have now been in the attic for 6 years...........probably been eaten by moths!

Re: OK on another note....
I used to cry and the moment of entry to any baby store. Now, I brave them and poke around a bit.
However, I just want a baby and if it has to sleep in a drawer or a hamper, I really don't care. If I have to carry him/her in my arms instead of a stroller that would be okay as well!
Lots of to us all.
Infertility is a horrible disease where you learn who your friends are and you never wish this on anyone else!

Hogwash --- I am a very optimistic person but optimism couldn't return all of my spent eggs, or lower my FSH.

Re: OK on another note....
Unlike the other IFer's on here, I haven't done IVF which is why I still hold on to hope. To me that will be the true test as to whether or not I am able to get PG and have a baby. Also, getting rid of my fibroids has given me new hope. It's like the way I felt 3 years ago when we decided to start TTC for the first time.
I am glad you are staying positive b/c it feels better then being on the other side of the spectrum!

Re: OK on another note....
Sorry....I didn't mean offend anyone. I am trying to be optimistic and even though this is my first IVF cycle DH and I have been married for over 7 years so I feel like this has been a long time in the making. Trust me I don't believe in relax and you will get pregnant...7 years of relaxing has gotten me nowhere LOL. I really didn't mean to offend anyone...just was trying to be a little optimistic. I guess everyone goes into their first IVF cycle this way. Good Luck to all
