Home-made Pizza
Last night I made home-made Pizza. I guess it seems sort of elementary and easy, but it came out so good that I wanted to share! I LOVE pizza, but whenever we get take out, it is so oily and it just makes me nervous that you never really know what they are putting into it. This way, I control the calories!
I bought fresh pizza dough in the supermarket (not frozen). In my supermarket, it is in a refrigerated section near the deli. Next time I am going to try the whole wheat crust!
Let dough rise about 2 hours and get to room temperature.
Flatten dough into 1/4 inch - 1/2 inch thick to fit on cookie sheet.
Spread Sauce of your choice (I used Hunts Regular Tomato Sauce from the Can)
Sprinkle 1/8 Tsp of Parsley and 1/4 Tsp of Garlic Powder to taste
Sprinkle about 1/2 cup of shredded Parmasean Cheese.
Add Shredded Mozzarella. (I used part skim) and whatever toppings you prefer!
Spread about 1/2 tbsp of oil on the bottom of a cookie sheet and place pizza on top.
Bake at 375 for 20 minutes. It was Delicious!!!!!!

Re: Home-made Pizza
I love making home made pizza!!!! I always buy the dough from the pizzeria and experiment with toppings. Last time I made calzones and pepperoni pinwheels to go with it because we had company and they were so good. My fave way to make the pizza is to spread some cruched garlic on teh bottom, and use sliced plum tomatoes and thinly sliced fresh mozzarella. Yummy!!

Re: Home-made Pizza
I make it once a week but make my own dough. It is so simple and I just let the dough rise for an hour in the warming draw. Then I use Franceso Rinaldi Orginal sauce ( i add garlic and use a 1 to 1 ratio of sauce and water and cook down the sauce a little because I dont like that uncooked tomatie taste) and then top with cheese. I also make salad pizza where I cook the dough in the oven once rolled out then I take it out put olive oil and minced garlic and cheese and then put it back in until the cheese is melted. I make a salad on the side and once the dough is cooled I top it with the salad. That is so good also.
