What do you need to do for the renewel? Is it 150 hours every 3 years???
ETA: What kinds of things are included?

Re: No more permanent certifcation
Doesn't it seem that they change their minds every 2 seconds? I'm so glad that I got permanently certified when I did.

Re: No more permanent certifcation
I think it's 150 hours, but I'm not sure. Someone just told me that all the crap you go to during school (meetings and stuff) counts towards the hours. I did not know this. It would be nice if someone would tell us exactly what counts and what the deal is!

Re: No more permanent certifcation
It's unfortunate that no one seems to know what we are now required to do...I don't understand why they even changed everything!!

Re: No more permanent certifcation
It's definitely 175 hours every five years. My Special Ed. AND Elementary Ed certifications are both permanent, whereas my English 7-12 is provisional. I have to start my 175 hours after two years of provisional certification.

Me too for my Spec. Ed and Elem. Ed certifications.
For my Literacy Certification, I am not grandfathered in, so therefore I have not applied for it and won't until the time comes that I will need it. I have everything for it, but just did not apply for the certificate, because I can't see paying for all of those classes to maintain a certificate I am not currently using.
