Look what I painted.....
for my cousin who just had a baby. The technique is Antique Washing. I used 3 different acrylic paints(white,black, burlap) using 1/2" brush. ETA: I used an unpainted hydrostone . The end result is a weathered/antiquey cream color.
This picture is not that great.
It looks like I have a new hobby!
Here are the instructions:
1) Paint 2 coats of White, waited an hour (or you can wait overnight) to dry. 2) Once dry, followed by 4:1 ratio (water/paint) of black acrylic. Brush and wipe off with a wet cloth( I used an old T-shirt that way lint wouldn't get on the piece). Do small sections at a time. 3) Repeat step 2 with a different color. I used a color called Burlap, (which is somewhere between brownish/gold) 4) Once dry, spray with Clear Matte Fixative.
