Purchased my first pairs of designer jeans!--
I got a pair of dark Sevens and also a pair of Rock & Republics. But I need both hemmed. The R&Rs are too long and I just noticed the back of the waist is a little big. The Sevens just need to be hemmed, but I love the bottom and would like to keep it somehow. Anyone know a good tailor for jeans in Smithtown area?

Can I ask where you got the R&Rs? Are they from a local store? I have the hardest time finding a decent selection of them in stores. 
What style did you get? I just bought myself 2 new pairs: Kiedis in Anthrax and Roth in Vicodine.  (I've got 2 more pairs on the way.  )

Actually, my girlfriend threw a jeans party last night! In lieu of like tupperware or something lame...so it was awesome. I got 2 pair for $150. They are supposedly authentic, and to be honest, I don't know jeans well so I probably would not know if they were fake...but they all had Nordstrom tags on them. Anyway, I'm not sure what style they are, the RRs have the pink logo on the pockets. They are so cute. Any hemming advice? I want to tell them to reattach the original hem.

Sorry, I don't have any hemming recommendations. I've never had to have jeans hemmed. I buy R&Rs b/c they tend to have longer inseams.
If you want to know what cut and wash they are, just read the inner tag. It will have a style code. Example: KDSAT means KDS=Kiedis cut AT=Anthrax wash

Most places will reattach the original hem if you ask them to. DH had a pair of his jeans done at the local cleaners and they did it, no problem. Just cost a little extra, but nothing crazy at all.

How cool! I've never heard of a jeans party! Could you get the info for me? I'd love to have one of those!!!!

Ah! They have that, I recall...but I just dropped them off. Will check when they come back! I asked for them to keep the original hem. It was $$$ so they'd better do a good job! The guy told me he has done these types of jeans before.

I'm not sure about Smithtown, but I know a place in Wantagh that does that. They reattach the original hem to the pants.

omg your first pairs? now you'll know what you've been missing!!! I love my R&Rs and my Sevens. I can't believe the deals you got...hopefully they are authentic, but it almost sounds too good to be true...I paid over $200 alone for one pair of R&Rs.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but "jean parties" tend to sell fakes. (Just like handbag/purse parties.)
R&Rs can be found for as low as $85 these days at discount stores (C21, TJMaxx, Marshalls, Off 5th), but they're very often irregulars or overstock (VB Crowns are everywhere.)
I'm attaching a photo of a pair of R&R Pheonix Jaggers that are fake even though they have a so-called "Nordstrom" tag.

I got my jeans hammed IN Roosevelt Field, they have a tailor downstairs. They did the original hem too without me asking and they came out amazing!
You couldn't even see it.
$20 and woth every penny...
