6 year Anniversary of my Mom's passing...
Tomorrow at 7am it will be 6 years since my Mom passed away of colon cancer. It STILL doesn't seem real. Even saying it out loud "6 years"...doesn't make it real. It seems like just yesterday that I was sitting in the hospital with her tell her it was ok to go...that we'd be ok. That all she had to do was promise me she'd be there with me on my wedding day and when I had a baby. Even though by that time she couldn't talk I knew she could hear me by the tears in her eyes.
I had the most horrible dream last night. It was so very real. She was alive, but I knew she had already passed. I was being "teased" with the fact that I could see her, be with her, but she would have to die again. It was so real. I swear I could feel her in my arms. I woke up at 4am and couldn't breathe. I went back to bed and it's as though the dream continued. As much as I wanted to see her and be with her...I hated going through her death again.
Why is it some days are so much harder than others....here's 6 years later?

I can't imagine how difficult this must be for you, but you know your mom is there for you watching over you. I see her picture in your profile. She looks so beautiful and kind.

This happens all the time to me. I used to cry for days after nights like these because I felt "teased" like you. I had to change the way I looked at it. Now I see it as a way for her to say "Hi! Im here and Im okay". Im much more at peace about it. It still sux and I would much rather my mom be here especially now being almost 8 months pregnant but I'd rather a dream than nothing.

Thank you all so much. It's been a tough day so far. I woke up early and lit a candle for my Mom as I do every year. Normally I'm better as the day goes on...today...eh...I'm taking half day. I just can't seem to concentrate.
