Interview today in this mess!!!
I am so nervous. I have an interview all the way out on the nassau/queens border. I really don't want to go in this weather, but I don't want to pass up on the opportunity!!!
This would be like a 2nd interview for me. I met with one of the dept chairs at the Nassau Diversity Fair, and they also called to interview me at their school!

It went really well. It was a 2nd/first interview. lol.
I met one of the chairs at the Nassau Diversity Fair. We really clicked. Then that interview was with the other 4 chairs (its a high school district). Which before this interview I never even heard of this.
I think they really liked me, and I made them laugh a few times. There are a few openings so hopefully my chances are better.
They said they will begin demo's around Easter so I may not here back for a little while.
The only thing that is going to hurt me is that I don't have a Bachelor's in math. However, I do have 36 undergrad math credits and 9 grad credits.

Why will this hurt you if you have enough undergrad math credits to fufill the certification requirements? That is more credits than a bachelor's in math would be anyway....isn't it? just curious.

because i didn't take anything higher than Calc I. The one chairperson said at the interview,"The only thing that concerns me is your math background. " I explained how I have taken all of these math credits.

Oh I see. But you passed the CST, right?
How high past calc I were they looking for? Did they actually look at your transcript at the interview?
I am not math undergrad and going back for math 7-12 now....

yea i am fully certified to teach it. i dont know how high they were looking for.
They didn't look at my transcript or ask for it. I just named a few of the courses I have taken.
They asked what the highest math I would be willing to teach and I said as a pretty new teacher probably Pre-Calc but I would love to eventually teach AP Stats.
