When a magazine does this, they are generally guessing.
They aren't talking department stores sizes - I think that they're going by couture sizes (though I could be wrong).
J. Lo is NOT a size six. That's the wrongest guess.
She claims to be a 6. Or at least she did--on Oprah, but that was a couple of years ago. Oprah didn't buy it either!

No way. You gotta remember one thing. Stores lie about sizes.
I'm a 2 at the Gap, a 4 at Old Navy and several 6's fit great. Sizing is not constant. And I'm sorry, JLO has an a s s. And a great one at that, don't get me wrong, but with mustcular thighs, too, that's not a 6.

Ive seen Jennifer Lopez in person - I was on line for the ladies room one time with her - granted it was a few years ago but she was so small. I was kind of shocked bc of how everyone goes on about how big her butt is. And now that she's lost weight, I can totally see her as even tinier so I think they're right with the size.
Supposedly Mandy Moore has put on some weight in recent times too...hardly huge at a Size 10 but a bit heavier than she once was.

I was surprised about Mandy Moore as well but when you really look at her, she is very tall and has a bigger frame. I LOVE her shape though! I think she is gorgeous!

Just speaking from experience and first hand knowledge...
JLO is REALLY teeny (her butt looks larger because in proportion to what her body is, she is so small.)
Mandy Moore is no 10, she is tall and has put some weight on, but no way a 10, I would say small 8.
The camera really does add weight...you'd be surprised how small and frail a lot of these people are in person. Mary-kate, I wanted to feed her myself...
And Kate Hudson, if that girl was a 2 I would be shocked...
