they have great templates.

Here are some tips:
Make sure that the resume is result oriented, not job description oriented. An employer wants to know what YOU have accomplished. (Ie., increased sales by 25%; Implemented a new appointment system which increased efficiency...)
Always start each bullet with an action verb. Follow the formula: Action Verb + Who/What + How/Why + More Information
Put the most relevant information as close to the top as possible. If this means separating various types of experiences from each other, you can do so, but stay chronological within each category.
Of course, the obvious... no spelling errors, typos, cutesy e-mail addresses, etc.
