Cat owners
Has anyone had any luck "training" cats to stay away from houseplants? Two of mine are doing a number on my plants (none are toxic to cats) and I don't know what to do.
The plants are about 12 feet off the ground on top of cabinets and not that easy to get too. I spray the cats with a water bottle when they look like they're thinking about climbing the cabinets.
but I'm losing the battle...

Re: Cat owners
No luck here. My cat killed our tree that we had. Now we don't keep any plants in the house.

Re: Cat owners
I actually tried hanging them from our pretty high ceilings...and came home to find the 13 pound cat sitting in the pot. Days later, plant, pot and hanger were found on the floor.
I read something online about spraying the plants with bitter apple so I might give that a shot before I surrender.

Re: Cat owners
Get some cat grass from the pet store. they need the greenery to help with their digestion. I'm not saying they won't attack the plants, but it seems to work with my two. They just eat the grass & leave the plants alone!
