I keep them in a garlic jar on my counter...I bought the jar at Bed Bath and Beyond.

Keep them in a sandwich bag; sealed, in one of the vegetable drawers in the fridge.

Basket with onions, Garlic is another one of those things that might have been harvested like six weeks before you buy it in the supermarket, so you are best to leave it at room temperature.
