Flat Stanley
I got an envelope in my mailbox at work from a student in Tennessee with a Flat Staney cut out in it. I am kind of familiar with the story but not really. The letter asked us to carry him around and take pics of his adventures with my class....I love this idea. We have been doing this today...
Can anyone tell me about the story. I am going to buy it (no one here has the original) but I want a little synopsis

hi!
can't help ya too much with the story, but i LOVE the idea of flat stanley! i'm a speech teacher at a school, and i just took flat stanley on my trip to germany for a teacher who does it with her class.
they do it with all of the 3rd graders, and hang everything up in the hallway, and its just so neat seeing all of it!

Flat Stanley is a boy who got flattened by a bulletin board. He helped solve a crime in a museum by pretending to be a picture and he was able to catch the thieves. He loved being flat. Then one day he wanted to go to California to visit a friend, and his parents couldn't afford a plane ticket, so they put him in a enelope and mailed him. In the end he got tired of being flat, and his brother used a bicycle pump and he wasn't flat anymore.
**by the way they just reprinted the original book, and its now a large picture book, the original was like a chapter book, with little pictures. If you have younger students they will enjoy the picture book better.

OMG that is soooo cute. You should see the way my 3rd Graders are literally fighting to hold him....Each period someone holds him on their desk and then if we have to travel to special or Lunch one person holds him there and then another on the way back...It is the cutest thing!
