neighbors dog jumps the fence into my yard
which with sherice was fine they all got along. i just was outside with my bailey and she had her hair up on ends and shaking and even jumped into my arms. she was sooooo scared. i actaully for the first time got nervouse with him over the fence. not because of him himself, but of how my new girl was acting that might set him off (which i know i am more then likely over reacting here) but i still got scared, and i was screamming at the top of my lungs at my neighbors dog to go back home and my neighbor never came out. i could not get back in the house because he was circling me to smell and sniff my new girl. i finally after about 5 mins. i got him to go back over the fence and get my girl back in the house.
now my question is if i get one of those eletrical fence things would it help to keep him out of my yard till they are use to each other? i know that more then likely that's not going to work but it's worth a try and ask. i personally hate those things but i am nervous of my new girl getting hurt because i may have a good feel for her now but she is new here and not too sure of all her behaviors yet.
Yesterday she went for her bath, nails and ears at the pet store here and there where other dogs there and she was fine and she has been fine with boo boo but these are not small dogs that are coming into my yard.

Re: neighbors dog jumps the fence into my yard
The electric fence only works if your neighbor agrees to put the collar on their dog. Also it has been proven to not be 100% effective.
I know that you do not want to start problems with your neighbor, but for a wealth of reasons they need to make an effort to keep their dog in their yard.
If you do not think they will help, then you need to socialize your new girl with the neighbors dog as if they are living together, KWIM?

ok i am gonna try to talk to her today when she gets home and see if she can just put him outside with ehr holding him and me holding her and see what happens. i don't think a bigger fence would even help at this point. and he is no little guy which is the funny thing

Re: neighbors dog jumps the fence into my yard
I wouldn't hook up an electric fence until I spoke with the neighbor. I'd flip if someone did that to my dog. On the other hand, their dog should not be scaling the fence and going into your yard. You need to talk with your neighbors and lay down the rules.
JMHO!!! Good luck with whatever you do!
