POLL: Help us choose where to go for our 1-year anniv!
We just got back from Puerto Rico and we have to go to FL 3 times in the next 2 months weddings so we are going to do something driving distance for our 1-year anniv the weekend of June 10th (just for a weekend -- 2 nights).
Need opinions on where we should go...
*Atlantic City - been there twice together but love gambling.
*Niagara Falls - DH has been there, I never have but it's a long trip just for a weekend.
*Mohegan or Foxwoods - been there numerous times together.
*Montauk/Hamptons - both never been there and wouldn't even know where to stay but it can be expensive, right?
Any other suggestions would be great! We are not bed & breakfast type people and we both don't really like amusement parks (scared of rollercoasters ). TIA!!

The summer months will be pricey in the Hamptons & Montauk...though you would have an incredibly good time.
I'm currently considering Philadelphia for a quick weekend at the end of the month...I hear it's a great city.
Boston & DC are close enough to drive to and both really fun.
I really love NYC in the summer - and you can typically find some great deals on hotels during that time.

i would say Montauk-Hamptons--- DH and I stayed at the Montauk Yacht Club and it was awesome. There are great restaurants and shops in Southhampton...also, the LI Vineyards are fabulous

What about Newport, RI?
Of your choices I'd say go to Montauk. Definitely eat at the Harvest if you go! Yum!

hmm... well, if you like the idea of AC, but are looking for a little more "romance"... theres a a great winery/hotel thats about a half hour from AC called the renault winery check out that website. they have a gorgeous hotel called the tuscany house hotel thats very romantic, plus they have 2 very nice restaurants right there, too. DH and i stayed there the night we got engaged, and went last year for the weekend for our 1-year anniversary. its sort of in teh middle of nowhere, but AC is easy to get to from there for a few hours of fun and gambling

Jess... Since you are going to FLA anyway... why dont you just extend your stay for one of the 2 times you will be there??? There is so much to do in FLA- Miami, Ft. Lauderdale.. the keys???
If I had to chose one of your choices, I would go with AC- lots to do there and its not too far. Good luck with whatever you chose.

Definitely Hampton/Montauk, you could go to some of the wineries on the south fork, Gurney's also has a spa! There are some cute bed & breakfasts or even look at Montauk Manor!! I love that place!

Thanks!!!!!!!!
I looked into gurneys (too expensive) and mohonk mtn house (also too expensive), but i'm going to check out all the other suggestions when we get from from FL on sunday (leaving today at 4:30)!
Block island sounds great... i have to do some research for hotels in montauk, but this has helped a lot.

Montauk has alot of motels in the town that won't be as much $ as Gurneys and the Manor
