Do you have a black suit that you could wear a flashy top under?

My mom used to always call the ruffly diaper covers under little girls dresses fancy pants....
you sure you don't have a pair of those to wear to the opera!!

Re: HELP...going to OPera tomorrow
Any nice black pants? Maybe wide legged? Add a pair of sparkly shoes? I am not used to dressing for cold weather.

Re: HELP...going to OPera tomorrow
wrap dress and knee high boots
will keep you warm
or your suit with the boots
pointy toe high boots looks classy when paired with the right outfit

Re: HELP...going to OPera tomorrow
I've been to the opera and you don't need to be all formal. Some of the ladies here have made great suggestions.
Have fun and I'm sure you'll look fabulous!

Re: HELP...going to OPera tomorrow
this is my third time, but I was worried about shoes and the snow.
it's amazing...you see some people in jeans and others literally dressed to the 9's in ball gowns and jewels.
tonight is La Traviata.
I decided to brave it and wear a skirt.
black pencil skirt black patterend tights black pointy toe knee high boots (thanks Pork and may God grace my steps ) white blouse peacock velvet blazer
thanks so much ladies!

Re: HELP...going to OPera tomorrow
I was at the Opera at the Met on Saturday night Renee fleming was the lead( if you are into Opera you know who she is).... I was so appalled with people who showed up in Jeans... I ended up wearing a nice pair of black pants, boots and a nice sweater... It was perfect...
I love La Traviata it is one of my favorites...
