Our cruise is leaving out of New Orleans, so we are going a day early and staying a day after the cruise returns to explore the French Quarter. Any advice on restaurants or must see's?

TIA!

Re: New Orleans

If you want to spend some $$$ on dinner, I highly recommend August. One of the best meals we have ever had.

We did a trolly tour which was cool to see some of the beautiful homes there. Also, walking around the French Quarter, etc.

I have heard the swamp tours are pretty cool-- we didn't do that cause we were there for Jazz Fest. When are you going?

Re: New Orleans

The best restaurant I went to in New Orleans is Jaquesemos (sp?). It is a casual, authentic New Orleans cuisine. Very popular. Usually a wait but sooo worth it! I highly recommend it!!!! Bar tenders were very entertaining also!

Re: New Orleans

If you're an Emeril fan...he's got two great restaurants there too.. Emeril's and Nola's.

You can kill plenty of time just walking around the French Quarter. Also a tour of the Garden District is really nice also.

Emeril's restaurant NoLa was great. Acme Oyster Bar was really good too - very casual - we sat at the bar.
